eWaste CONNECTION runs workshops for people to attend at different times during the week. Book into the workshop that suits you. Our workshops involve taking apart electrical items and recycling the parts we can. There are so many different jobs to do, that we find something for everyone.

It's very satisfying on so many levels.
About Our Workshops
Our workshops include Participants, Volunteers, and a Supervisor. Some of our community bring a support person with them and others explain the assistance they need when booking and we create a plan to suit individual needs.
During our workshops, we are diligent with safety and the wearing of suitable safety items such as eye goggles/glasses, gloves & aprons. We safely and correctly recycle or dispose of all ewaste that isn't able to be refurbished.
Our workshops are a place to enjoy trying new things, using our bodies and minds, while socialising with people from all walks of life.
Individual needs are carefully planned for and adapted if required, so that everyone can enjoy and contribute in the workspace.
Every dollar counts
If you are able to donate a few dollars we really appreciate this. Whether $5 or $50,000 we can put your donation to excellent use and continue our mission to offer more purpose and produce more recycling within our community.
Creating purpose for all people
We provide opportunities for people with physical disabilities and mental impairments to participate in something meaningful. We also provide fully able members of our community the abililty to assist with, and be part of our recycling community too.
Questions & Answers
Do I have to pay to participate in a workshop?
No, but if you have NDIS funding eWaste Connection is a registered Service Provider under the Capacity Building – Social Community and Civic Participation category. For NDIS funded participants the cost is $25 per hour.
What if I need to get information off an item I donated?
For any hardware, please ensure you have removed all data from the device if you require a copy (otherwise it will be disposed of securely). By leaving any item at eWaste Connection you relinquish your rights to and ownership of that item and it is likely to be in many pieces very soon after donation! Our donation policy can be accessed here.
How can I volunteer if I don’t have any electrical knowledge or skills?
There is no previous experience required to volunteer at e-waste Connection. We’ll train you as well as our participants. If over 18, all you require is a combined Blue Card and Yellow Card (for disability service) which we’ll help you complete.
How can I donate electrical items?
You can drop items off at either of our locations at any time. It is important you read our donation policy though. You’ll find our locations here. For large volumes of e-waste, we may be able to collect directly from you. Give us a call to enquire.
Do I have to commit to attending for a specific length of time?
Because of the time taken to train and customise our workshops to individual participant needs, we ask that you commit to attending for six months. You can of course do a trial workshop first to see whether you enjoy participating.
Are there any age limits to participation?
Most of our participants are young people however e-waste welcomes everyone.
