Brisbane City Council is proud to announce the winners of the WasteSMART Brisbane Awards with a record number of 397 nominations received this year, all of them an inspiration in reducing waste in our city.
eWaste CONNECTION
WasteSMART Business Award sponsored by Cleanaway <19 Employees finalist
eWaste CONNECTION provides a safe, social and nurturing environment for people with disabilities in a local community setting to undertake work which actively reduces e-waste and encourages sustainability.
eWaste recycles and/or repairs all types of electronic and electrical waste and is currently averaging 10,000kg per month of waste. Over the course of its 5-year existence, eWaste has processed approximately 250,000kg of waste away from landfill.
They also proactively raise awareness in local communities of their own recyclable waste which can be sent to this local enterprise for reprocessing instead of going to landfill.
